Rick Hautala's Reunion will be published in late 2009 by PS Publishing. Here's Risingshadow.net's review of Reunion.

A REVIEW OF RICK HAUTALA'S REUNION

Reunion was a touching story about two boys, Jackie and Chris, who were best friends. They went camping in the backyard and decided to crash a high school reunion party. Jackie didn't want to go to the reunion, because he had a feeling that something was wrong, but Chris bullied him into going there. At the same time John and his wife, Maggie, were going to the high school reunion. They had trouble getting there, because it seemed that something was trying to prevent them from going there. I'm not going to tell more about the plot, but I can say that this novella became fascinating when the boys went to the reunion.

Reunion was a good old-fashioned and well written story. It was a pleasure to read it, because it was a sad and melancholy story about childhood and friendship. Rick Hautala described the friendship between the two boys perfectly. He created good characters, because Jackie and Chris were just like normal children, who wanted to have adventures. It was easy for me to believe that they could've been real boys.

I like this kind of touching and melancholic novellas very much. I'm sure that other readers will also find this story interesting.

The afterword by F. Paul Wilson was interesting. The cover art by Tomislav Tikulin was beautiful and it suited the story well.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars.
